Hardware Requirements

Minimum Hardware Requirements

Desktop or Notebook Computer:

• Pentium III (Celeron) or above
• 256 MB RAM
• 40 Gig Hard Drive
• SVGA or better (800X600) minimum
• Inkjet or Laser printer
• CD-RW Drive to backup Data
• Any Windows compliant scanner

Operating Systems Support:

• Windows XP Pro
• Windows 2000 (Not supported by Microsoft after June 30, 2005)
• Windows 98, ME or below is NOT supported

Networking:

• Will run as a thin client application on either Window Terminal Server of Citrix Server.
• Must load app under Add/Remove programs in the control panel
• VPN, Internet connectivity handled through permissions and authorities of Thin Client.

Since most student and practicum site information is confidential it is recommended that you password protect you application through the operating system.  It is also recommended that you have a backup procedure in place to back up the data, documents, correspondence, email, images and all other data the you are keeping in Practicum Administration software.  This can be done to a secure server, tape drive, CD/DVD or flash drive.  Regardless of media it should be scheduled, removable and stared in a safe off-site location for disaster recovery.
